BAGHDAD, Aug. 24 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior Iraqi official of the Justice Ministry escaped a second bid for his life when gunmen opened fire on his convoy in western Baghdad on Wednesday, killing four of his bodyguards and wounding five others, police said.

"Unknown gunmen attacked the convoy of Busho Ibrahim, the Kurdish under-secretary of the Justice Ministry on the highway near Adil district as he was heading to work, killing four bodyguards and wounding five others," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The official escaped unhurt, the source said, adding that two vehicles within the convoy were burned.

On Tuesday, Ibrahim escaped assassination when gunmen ambushed his convoy at 4:00 p.m. (1200 GMT) in western Baghdad, wounding three of his bodyguards and a civilian. Enditem
