SINGAPORE, Aug. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Cassia Foods, a Singapore food company, has invented the world's first noodle for diabetics, Channel News Asia report said on Monday.
The invention, named DIABETRIM, is designed to help control after-meal blood sugar levels in diabetics, which is clinically proven induction of certain diabetic complications.
Based on studies conducted at the local Changi General HospitalDiabetes Center, practitioners have found that DIABETRIM produces lower after-meal blood sugar response than common carbohydrate staple foods, which means that the product may be adopted as a diet option for diabetics.
The new noodle is now on the shelf of the city state's pharmacies and hospitals at a price of around 4.40 Singapore dollars (about 2.64 US Dollars). Enditem กก |
