GAZA, Aug. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The armed wing of Palestinian radical group Hamas vowed on Saturday that attacks on Israel will continue as long as it keeps occupying the Palestinian territories in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Ezel Dein al-Qassam brigades spokesman Abu Hozaifa told a press briefing at the square of the unknown soldier in Gaza City that this briefing was to clarify the brigades position concerning the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and northern West bank.

"The brigades want to assert on this occasion that resistance was the main reason for the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip," he said.

"The brigades considers the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip is only the first step on the path of liberation, and we will not accept the occupation exists in our Palestinian areas," he said, adding "we will keep our arms in the face of occupation."

He warned that his group would use all means to resist the Israeli army control over Gaza borders after the Israeli withdrawal. Enditem
