AMMAN, Aug. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- A rocket attack in the
Jordanian Red Sea port of Aqaba killed a Jordanian soldier on Friday, though it
missed a US vessel docked at the port, Jordanian security officials said.

Ahmad Saleh al-Najdawi was at the dockside when he was hit by
the rocket, said the officials.
Najdawi was taken to hospital and died of his wounds, they
added.
Meanwhile, Jordanian officials said the rocket narrowly missed a
US vessel docked at the port and landed on a nearby warehouse.
Jordanian Interior Minister Awni Yerfas confirmed the rocket
attack, which caused little damage to the warehouse, saying an investigation is
underway.
Minutes after the Aqaba rocket attack, a similar rocket attack
was reported in the nearby Israeli Red Sea city of Eilat.
