ATHENS, Aug. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- A senior official from Cyprus' Helios Airways confirmed on Monday that all the passengers on its crashed plane are Greeks or Greek Cypriots.

A Boeing 737-300 plane, scheduled to fly from Larnarca to Prague with stopover in Athens, crashed on Sunday into a mountain near Marathonas, 25 kilometers away from Athens, killing 115 passengers including 48 children on board and 6 crew members.

In a press briefing at Athens International Airport, Demetris Pantazis, managing director of Helios, told Xinhua that among the passengers there was no other nationality except Greek.

"According to the name list, there was no Chinese passenger. All the passengers carry Greek names," he said.

Greek authorities also confirmed that most passengers were Cypriot and the remainder Greek, while the aircraft captain was German.

Among the dead were 12 children aged four and above, the Greek health ministry said. Enditem
