"Exclusive Edition of Youth" heats Beijing
www.chinaview.cn 2005-08-14 16:40:06

BEIJING Aug. 14 -- Chinese rock singer Xu Wei's long expected "Exclusive Edition of Youth" concert was held at Worker's Gymnasium Saturday night in Beijing.

Fans braved the hot day and filled almost every seat. Tickets were all sold out several days before the concert.

Such popularity is rare for a Chinese mainland singer, since there are an abundance of concerts held by big stars from home and abroad here in Beijing.

The singer performed all his famous songs at the concert, many of which induced the crowd to sing along with him.

Renowned Chinese mainland female singer Tian Zhen was invited to be the only guest performer.

Xu Wei is renowned for having inspired generations of young people from the 1970s onwards. This concert is regarded as building on the small gig held at Beijing North Theatre at the end of last year.
