BEIJING Aug. 12 -- Famed Chinese actress Chen Hong unveiled her new book "A Glance at The Promise" at an autograph session on Thursday in Shanghai.

The book is about the star's change from an actress to a producer, and some behind-the-screen tales from her latest film "The Promise", which took 3 years to make.

Chen Hong said she did not aim to seek further success through her shift in roles, but to give more support to her husband Chen Kaige, who is also the film's director.

The star revealed that the book also traces the birth of China's first ever huge budget blockbuster of 350 million yuan, over 43 million US dollars. Enditem
