GAZA, Aug. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Foreign Minister Nasser Al-Qidwa urged Monday for a total end of Israeli occupation, saying the intended Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank doesn't mean the end of its occupation of the Palestinian territories.
Al-Qidwa
told reporters that the Israelis would leave from all the Gaza Strip, but the
problem would remain in keeping an Israeli control on terminals, on water and on
the air of the territories that would be evacuated.
Keeping
an Israeli control on all this would of course keep restricting the movement of
the Palestinian people as well as their goods and traffics, he added.
Al-Qidwa
said that the current Israeli withdrawal will not be as fast as people can
imagine, adding that it will not be the end of the occupation of all the
occupied Palestinian territories.
The
Palestinian minister also warned of what he called the Israeli government
attempts to postpone the implementation of the world-backed roadmap plan for
Mideast peace. Enditem |
