GAZA, Aug. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian security forces will implement a two-stage
security plan during and after Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, a
senior security official revealed on Monday.
Colonel Jamal Kayed, chief of the national security forces in southern Gaza
Strip, said the first phase is to guarantee the withdrawal process by deploying
Palestinian security forces in the isolated zones between the Israeli
settlements and the Palestinian controlled territories.
He added that the second part of the security plan is to deploy Palestinian
national security forces and police in each settlement and military base to be
evacuated.
Palestinian civil affairs minister Mohamed Dahlan, who is in charge of the
withdrawal, formed different technical committees to run the settlements after
the pullout. Enditem
