a meeting was held late Sunday between General Jamal Abu Zeid, the interior
minister's assistant, and Moshe Kablaneski, deputy chief of Israeli general
staff.
The ministry said in a statement that the meeting was held in Jerusalem to
tackle the coordinating mechanisms between the two sides for the imminent
Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza strip and the northern West Bank.
The ministry added that "the Israelis presented and explained their
withdrawal plans and both sides continued discussing the agreements that were
reached between field officers in previous meetings."
The two sides agree to continue the contact between the field officers,
according to the statement.
The Israeli cabinet approved the removal of three isolated Gaza Jewish settlements on Sunday in the first stage of the plan to evacuate all 21 settlements in Gaza and four of 120 in the West Bank. Enditem |
