ĦĦTEHRAN, Aug. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Iran's new president Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad said here Saturday that the priority of his government is to help
solve difficulties of the youth.
"I will do my best to help the youth of the country to solve the main problems confronting them, including the
difficulties in employment, education and marriage," Ahmadinejad said in his
inaugural speech after taking oath at a ceremony held in the Majlis (parliament)
hall.
That is the priority of his administration in the
coming four years, he said.
Ahmadinejad also vowed to improve people's standards
of living and build a strong economy.
The 49-year-old former Tehran mayor won a landslide
election victory in June, replacing reformist cleric Mohammad Khatami who was
unable to stand for a third term.
Ahmadinejad faces an uphill task to revive the
stagnant economy and solve the problems of high unemployment, corruption and a
widening gap between the country's rich and the poor. Enditem |
