Zhao Benshan's comedy skits will definitely be on the evening's program.

    BEIJING, Aug. 6 -- Changes are going to take place for the 2006 Spring Festival Party and CCTV is requesting to receive bids on Aug 12th.

    The director will be selected through an in-house contest as usual. The chief director of the 2005 Spring Festival Party Lang Kun recently declared that he would not take part in next year's event. The main focus of the August 12th tender is naming-rights.

    The Handicapped Art Troupe, which became famous overnight for its 2005 Spring Festival Party performance, will not perform this year due a scheduling conflict with a pre-booked show in Taiwan.

    Zhao Benshan's comedy skits will definitely be on the evening's program. CCTV has sent an early invitation to him so he can prepare new material. Zhao says whether or not to participate is not only up to him, but also to the TV audience all over China.
