JERUSALEM, Aug. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Leaders of the Israeli Yesha Council of settlements have ordered thousands of youths opposed to the disengagement plan to infiltrate the Gaza settlement bloc of Gush Katif, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday.

Senior police officials were quoted as saying that they expectedmost of the demonstrators to heed earlier directives against infiltration issued by the leadership of the Yesha Council.

But a few hundred extremists might clash with security forces and try to infiltrate Gush Katif, they added.

Tens of thousands of right-wing activists participated in an anti-disengagement rally in Sderot on Tuesday and They continue to protest Wednesday in nearby cities.

The Gush Katif region was declared a closed military zone three weeks ago ahead of the disengagement, and non-residents have not been allowed to enter the area since.

The IDF stations thousands of soldiers along the Green Line to thwart any attempt to infiltrate the Gaza Strip.

In addition to road blocks, mobile forces have also been deployed with various surveillance means. It was estimated that some 18,000 troops and 12,000 police are involved in preventing protesters from getting to Gush Katif. Enditem
