Abbas to visit Cairo for talks with Egypt's Mubarak

    GAZA, July 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will leave for Cairo later Saturday for talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak over the coming Israeli pullout from the Gaza Strip, sources at Abbas' office said.

    The sources said Abbas, who is currently in Gaza to monitor the withdrawal, would meet Mubarak in Cairo to discuss the issues that will be tackled at a special Arab summit due to be held in Egypt's Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh next Wednesday.

    Mubarak on Thursday called for an urgent Arab summit to focus on the situation in Iraq and the Palestinian territories.Israel is to evacuate all the 21 settlements in the Gaza Stripand four in the northern West Bank on Aug. 17.

    Sharm el-Sheikh witnessed a series of bomb attacks that killedat least 64 people last Saturday. Enditem
