Jordan says no plane crash, but "minor accident"
www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-27 08:25:39

AMMAN, July 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Jordan denied here Tuesday an earlier report from Israel that a Jordanian plane crashed, saying a Russian-made cargo plane has had a "minor accident", "but has not crashed."

The Royal Jordanian airlines made the denial in response to earlier media reports which quoted an Israeli rescue service as saying that a Jordanian plane crashed near the Jordanian-Israeli border on Tuesday while landing.

Basil Kilani, a spokesman for the Royal Jordanian airlines, said the Russian-made cargo plane had a "minor accident" in a southern border strip near Israel on Tuesday, but it did not crash.

Meanwhile, the Israeli rescue service has also revised an earlier report that the plane had crashed, saying the Jordanian plane suffered a tyre puncture upon landing. Enditem
