LONDON, July 25 (Xinhuanet) -- British police believe that the men who failed to blow up three underground trains and a bus in London last Thursday are still on the run in Britain and may have access to explosives, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported Monday.
Police are now investigating whether the two bombing incidents on July 7 and 21 were directed by the same group.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Ian Blair said the investigation was "racing against time", raising fears among the public that attackers might be planning to strike again.
Meanwhile, the international investigation is concentrating on Pakistan, tracing origins of those attackers in the country.
The family of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot dead by mistake by police at Stockwell Tube station in south London last Friday, is considering suing the police.
The police have apologized to the family of the 27-year-old Menezes, after he was mistakenly shot dead as a suspect suicide bomber.
But his family said a "gross error" was made and apologies were"not enough."
Ian Blair insisted the policy of "shoot-to-kill to protect" would continue and warned that more innocent victims might be killed in the fight against terrorism. Enditem |
