Tsai Chin crowned Most Outstanding Artist in Asia

Hong Kong veteran folk singer Tsai Chin was crowned Most Outstanding Artist in Asia.

    BEIJING, July 25 -- The annual CCTV-MTV Music Awards attracted a group of dazzling stars from both home and abroad Sunday night at Worker's Gymnasium.

The most thundering applause was given to South Korean pop king Rain.
        Canadian band Simple Plan raised the curtains for the music gala last night with their song "Welcome to My Life".

    Hong Kong veteran folk singer Tsai Chin(²ÌÇÙ) was crowned Most Outstanding Artist in Asia while Chinese mainland duo Yu Quan pocketed Best Album Award of the Year for their hit "Tirty".

    The most thundering applause was given to South Korean pop king Rain last night when the star showed his killer dancing skills and performed two songs "It's Raining" and "I Do" from his latest album.

    Famous amongst his Chinese fans for his role in popular South Korean youth drama "Full House", Rain was crowned Best Artist of the Year in the South Korean Region.

    Popular South Korean singer and actress Jang Nara was also invited to the music gala as a presenter, adding to the fun.

    Other winners included Best Male Singer in Hong Kong Region, Eason Chan, Best Female Singer in Hong Kong Region, Miriam Yeung, Best Male Singer in Taiwan Region, Leehom Wong, Best Female Singer in Taiwan Region, Jolin Tsai, and Best Group in Taiwan Region, F. I. R.
