BAGHDAD, July 24 (Xinhuanet) -- The death toll rose to 22 in asuicide truck bombing outside a police station in eastern Baghdad on Sunday, police said.

    The blast also injured 30 others, most of the casualties were civilians, an interior ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity."

    The attack took place at around 3:00 p.m. (1100 GMT), when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive-laden truck at the concrete barriers that protected the police station in al-Rashad neighborhood," the source said.

    The blast also destroyed 25 civilian cars and four police vehicles, adding that most of the civilians were killed in their cars when the attack happened.

    Earlier, Iraqi security forces reportedly expected a new wave of insurgent attacks in Baghdad to cripple the political process in the war-torn country."

    About 10,000 terrorists and numerous car bombs have sneaked into Baghdad from Ramadi," the commander of the 1st Iraqi Army Division was quoted as saying. Enditem
