Germany rules out terrorism in light plane crash

    BERLIN, July 22 (Xinhuanet) -- A light airplane crashed on Friday onto the lawn between the Reichstag building, which houses German parliament, and the chancellery building in central Berlin.

    German police said the pilot, the only passenger on the plane, was killed in the crash. 

    Erhart Koerting, Interior Minister of the state of Berlin, told a news conference that there was no indication that the crash was in any way related to terrorism.

    He said the pilot's identity was unknown. The area around the building was cordoned off after the crash. Enditem
