    Fashion Magazines Go East

    Hachette Filipacchi with the Shanghai Translation Publishing House publish the Chinese version of Elle, the first international fashion magazine to be published on the Chinese mainland.

    ¡ê¡è 1993

    China Light Industry Press with Shufunotomo from Japan publishes Rayli magazine.

    ¡ê¡è 1998

    Hearst Magazines International introduces Cosmopolitan to Chinese readers in conjunction with the Trends magazine group.

    ¡ê¡è 2001

    Hearst Magazines International licenses Harper's Bazaar to be published to Chinese readers.

    ¡ê¡è 2002

    Again Hachette Filipacchi with the China Sports Press Group publishes Marie-Claire.

    ¡ê¡è September, 2005

    Conde Nast International Ltd with the China Pictorial Publishing House will launch Chinese Vogue.
