ĦĦJAKARTA, July 18 (Xinhuanet) -- The Indonesian government is selecting members for the Commission of Truth and Friendship (CTF)established with Timor Leste, according to the Antara news agency Monday.

"Hopefully, we will announce the names of the CTF member next week," Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda was quoted by the Antara news agency as saying.

The CTF is charged with seeking out the truth about the human rights atrocities committed in the wake of the 1999 vote for independence in Timor Leste.

It will consist of five Indonesians and five Timorese appointed by the government of each country and will start its work in August 2005.

Hassan said that the government of Timor Leste had finished making its selections. Enditem
