GAZA, July 17 (Xinhuanet) -- A powerful blast caused by an accidental explosion of a bomb ripped through the home of anIslamic Hamas militant in central Gaza on Sunday, security sources said.

    The sources said the house which was at Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza was empty when the explosion happened, adding that no casualties were reported.

    The explosion was caused by a technical hitch of a bomb the Hamas militant stored in the house, they added.

    Witnesses said they heard a powerful blast and saw flames rising from the house and shrapnel and fragments darting out.

    Similar incidents had occurred in the Gaza Strip as bombs and rockets militants were preparing against Israeli targets exploded accidentally. Enditem
