London blast probe focuses on chemist, Briton

    CAIRO, July 15 (Xinhuanet) -- An alleged bomb-maker in the July 7 London blasts has been arrested in Cairo, Egyptian officials confirmed on Friday.

    They identified the man as 33-year-old Magdy Nashar, saying Nashar was arrested several days ago.

    Earlier, reports said the alleged bomb-maker has been arrested in Cairo.

    Nashar is believed to have been a possible mastermind in the bombings that killed 54 people with some 700 injured, the reports said, citing sources including the FBI.

    According to the reports, the US-trained chemist was captured ina Cairo suburb and he is being questioned in Cairo.

    Authorities believed he had left Britain two weeks before the attacks, said the reports. Enditem
