BEIJING, July 13 -- Police in Britain say they have evidence at least one bomber died in the four attacks on London's transport system. And security cameras have captured images of four suspects just before the bombings.
Meanwhile, the BBC is reporting explosives were found in a car at the closed train station in Luton. They said explosives experts examined a car suspected of being linked to the terrorist attacks, and carried out three controlled explosions.
Scotland Yard's anti-terrorist chief said closed-circuit television footage showed four suspects arriving at King's Cross station about 20 minutes before the three subway blasts.
Police believe one suspect died in the explosion between the Aldgate and Liverpool Street underground stations. Some of the alleged bomber's property was found on the bus where 13 people died. His family had reported him missing on the day of the explosion. The police traced the man to a Pakistani neighborhood in Leeds, and searched six homes.
Chief of Scotland Yard Anti-Terrorist Branch Peter Clarke said, "The investigation quite early led us to have concerns about the movements and activities of four men, three of whom came from the West Yorkshire area. We are trying to establish their movements in the run-up to last week's attacks and specifically to establish if they all died in the explosions."
The prospect of the first suicide bomb attacks in London has rattled commuters' sense of security and the idea of suicide bombers targeting public transport has become an unsettling thought.
