BEIJING, July 12 -- NASA says the countdown for its first space shuttle flight in two and a half years is going well. The organization also said there are no immediate technical concerns.
Going into Wednesday's launch, NASA's main concern is the weather. The storm named Dennis, although no longer a hurricane, could still interfere. A new tropical depression in the Atlantic is also being watched.
Discovery will be making its first flight in four years when it takes off for the International Space Station, with much-needed supplies and replacement parts. By far the shuttle's biggest change, is a redesigned external fuel tank. This will be the first NASA space shuttle flight since Columbia exploded in February of 2003.
