"Encierro" raises curtain in Spain

BEIJING, July 11 -- Some animal protectionists launched a parade in Pamplona on July 5, one day before the beginning of the traditional Spanish festival Encierro (bullrunning festival).

The protectionists in their underwear called for the ceasing of the "bloody bullfight" in the annual festival, which can cost many healthy bulls' lives.

This traditional festival was first held in 1591. Now it attracts people from all over the world every year. The activities will last from July 6 to 14.
