"War of the Worlds" to open in China in August
www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-11 11:23:30

BEIJING, July 11 -- Hollywood tycoon Steven Spielberg's latest box office hit "War of the Worlds" will premiere in cinemas across China on August 25th.

China's media watchdog SARFT says the film will be put on screen with no censors, but kids under 12-year-old should not be allowed to watch it in cinemas.

Starring Tom Cruise and Miranda Otto, this 10 billion US dollar blockbuster is based on a contemporary retelling of H.G. Wells's seminal classic.

The sci-fi adventure thriller reveals the extraordinary battle for the future of humankind through the eyes of one American family fighting to survive it.
