Lin Chih-ling in stable condition
www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-11 09:23:33

BEIJING, July 11 -- Top model Lin Chih-ling was in a stable condition after she fell from a horse and broke her breastbone Friday during the filming of a commercial in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, domestic media said Sunday.

A Shanghai-based newspaper said reports that Lin had fractured six ribs in the accident were not true.

Lin issued a statement Sunday to clarify her condition and express her gratitute to her fans' concern.

The model turned to be in a better condition after two days. Now she was able to walk and was expected to recover within at least two months, according to the Shanghai newspaper.

However, the accident was a nightmare for her.

"The horse galloped fast on a prairie and she fell," Lin's agent said. "But her mind remains clear and she can speak." Lin was rushed to a local hospital immediately.

Lin, the No. 1 supermodel in Taiwan, gets 5 million yuan (US$602,000) per commercial on average, the second-highest paid star in Hong Kong and Taiwan behind Maggie Cheung (ÕÅÂüÓñ). She will claim 8.7 million yuan from an insurance company as compensation.
