    Beijing July 9 -- Two people have been killed and 64 others injured when a Dutch tourist bus crashed near Agde, in the Languedoc province of south-west France early Saturday, local police said.

    The accident happened before dawn when the bus carrying Dutch tourists crashed on a main road, reported abc.net.au. 

    Five people were said to be gravely injured and a further 12 were said to be in serious condition.

    Two passengers were killed outright and the rest of the 66 on board received more minor injuries, rescue workers said.

    The cause of the crash in the Herault department of France, a coastal beauty spot near Spain, was not immediately clear.

    The alarm was raised by the bus driver.

    A make-shift hospital was set up by the side of the road, which was closed down.

    Passengers were also being treated for shock.
