GAZA, July 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Al-Aqsa martyrs brigades, armed wing of the ruling Fatah movement, claimed responsibility Saturday for wounding four Israelis after blowing up explosive device under Israeli jeep along the boundary fence in the southern Gaza Strip.

The brigades said in a leaflet sent to reporters that on Friday, just shortly before midnight, their militants managed to plant two explosive devices in the area that were detonated as the patrol passed over it.

The attack came in respond to the Israeli ongoing attacks against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, it added.

Meanwhile, Israeli army radio reported that four Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded when an explosive device went off near their patrol jeep, adding that the soldiers were transferred to a local hospital for medical treatment.

A spokesman of the army was quoted as saying that the Palestinian attack is the fifth this week against Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip. Enditem
