www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-09 17:05:42

GAZA, July 9 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Ministry of Interior said on Saturday that senior officers in the joint Palestinian and Israeli army liaison office are scheduled to meet on Sunday to discuss the Israeli withdrawal details.

The ministry said in a statement sent to reporters that the meeting aims at discussing details of the Israeli withdrawal plan supposed to start on Aug. 17.

The statement said that the officers might agree on determining the points of deployment during implementing the withdrawal plan. It pointed out that the two sides had prepared army maps for the deployment, which aims at insuring the ability to achieve the demanded tasks.

It also clarified that holding such a meeting was agreed between Suleiman Helles, head of Palestinian national security apparatuses, and General Aviv Kokhavi, Israeli army commander of the Gaza Strip, who met last week and discussed several issues related to implementing the Israeli withdrawal plan.
