Islamic website posts threat against Italian premier
www.chinaview.cn 2005-07-09 03:48:50

ROME, July 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A message posted on an Islamic website on Friday contained a threat against Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, saying that "he still must pay his dues."

The message was posted by a person who described himself as "combatant, brother and professor Louis Atiat Allah", according to Italian News Agency ANSA.

The website on which the threat was posted was that of the London-based Islamic Movement for Reform of Saad Rashid a-Faqih, aSaudi opposition group.

The movement almost immediately removed the message because it "violated the site's rules against inciting hate and violence".

The message also said that Thursday's bomb blasts in London, which left dozens dead and hundreds injured, was part of an "historic war".

Aside from threatening Berlusconi, the message also made reference to the April 2004 kidnapping by Iraqi insurgents of four Italian private security guards, one of whom, Fabrizio Quattrocchi, was killed by the Islamic militants.

Now, there are more than 3,000 Italian troops in Iraq. Enditem
