LONDON, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- The major European stock markets plummeted in early deals on Thursday, as a series of seven terror attacks on London killed at least 33 and injured hundreds more.
The capital's FTSE 100 index of leading shares plunged 2.77 percent to 5,084.60 points.
The Frankfurt DAX 30 dived 2.40 percent to 4,504.87 and in Paris the CAC 40 dropped 2.64 percent to 4,166.82.
The euro stood at 1.1985 dollars.
The explosions came a day after the city had won its bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games and as leaders from the Group of Eight rich nations met in Scotland for a key summit.
Prime Minister Tony Blair condemned the explosions as "terrorist attack" and vowed to strike back on terrorism. Enditem |
