CANBERRA, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- Australian Prime Minister John Howard condemned terrorist bombings in central London which caused dozens of casualties on Thursday.

"I express my horror and disgust at this cowardly attack on innocent people," the prime minister told Australian Broadcasting Corporation TV.

Howard, who is scheduled to visit Britain on July 20, said, "It's important that we stand shoulder to shoulder with our British allies at a time such as this."

He said his government is trying to find out if Australia was caught up in the explosions and so far no Australian casualties have been confirmed. Enditem
