LONDON, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- A explosion was reported in London's financial district during the rush hour on Thursday morning and several people were injured, British transport police said.

    The explosion was in the area near Liverpool Street railway station and the area around the railway terminal was closed by police after the explosion.

    The subway maintenance company said a power surge caused the explosion.
