Roadside bomb strikes US convoy in Baghdad

    BAGHDAD, July 7 (Xinhuanet) -- A roadside bomb hit a US military convoy Thursday morning in eastern Baghdad, wounding two soldiers, the US military said.

    The attack took place at about 7:30 a.m. (0330 GMT) in Baghdad'sShiite slum of Sadr City, damaging a US Humvee after the blast forced it to turn over into a canal, the military said.

    US forces sealed off the scene and helicopters flew over the area, as the two soldiers were evacuated to a military treatment facility, they added. Enditem
