WUHAN, July 5 (Xinhuanet)-- More than two hundred cultural relics were discovered Tuesday in Zigui county, central China's Hubei province, during an excavation for rescuing culture relics at the Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River.

Archaeologists from Yichang Museum, who took part in the excavation, said the cultural relics span from the Han Dynasty (220 B.C-26 A.D) to the Ming Danasty (1368-1644).

The unearthed items include a garlic-shaped bronze pot, a 18-cm-wide jade piece, and two pottery pots of the Han Dynasty(220B.C-26 A.D), which are all rare in this area.

A large number of relics such as Ding, an ancient cooking vessel with two loop handles and three legs, kettles, pottery wares were also discovered.

The archaeologists said the cultural relics provide new evidence for research into the ancient culture and customs of Three Gorges region. Enditem
