HONG KONG, July 5 (Xinhuanet) -- The Summer Sourcing Show for gifts, housewares and toys kicked off Tuesday here and will run for four days, ending on July 8.

    Chairman of the fair organizing committee Jeffrey Lam pointed out that this year's Summer Sourcing Show is bigger than the previous one, with 1,250 international exhibitors displaying theirgoods.

    "This event offers buyers convenient one-stop sourcing opportunities for gifts, housewares toys and premium products", hesaid.

    "Exhibitors will have the opportunity to find new marketing anddistribution channels, and to introduce their latest products".

    A series of seminars will be held during the four-day event to bring both buyers and suppliers up-to-date with the latest market developments and industry trends.

    The fair gets support from major Hong Kong associations, Lam said, adding that the Hong Kong Exporters' Association has set up a pavilion at the fair, and the Federation of Hong Kong Industriesis co-organizing the fair's 'Fun & Play' section.

    The show also features group pavilions set up by companies fromthe Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, while India and Korea are taking part for the first time.

    The fair is divided into five theme zones entitled "Dining & Cooking", "Fun & Play", "Gift Ideas", "Home Living" and "Style & Decor". A special section - "Treasure Island" - featuring 10 exhibitors has been created to showcase products of exceptional style, quality and creativity.

    Taking place concurrently with the Summer Sourcing Show are theHong Kong Licensing Show and Licensing Conference, providing a premier trading platform for the industry and for the exchange of market information and ideas. Enditem
