GAZA, July 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Senior Israeli and Palestinian security officials
will meet on Tuesday for more coordination on the intended Israeli pullout from
the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank, an official statement said.
The statement issued by the Palestinian interior ministry said that General
Jamal Abu Zayed, a deputy to interior minister Nasser Yousef is heading the
Palestinian security delegation.
The statement added that General Harie'l, chief of the planning department in
the Israeli ministry of defense will lead the Israeli delegation.
"The meeting is a continuation of the coordination between the two sides to
prepare for the expected Israeli evacuation from 21 Jewish settlements in the
Gaza Strip and four in northern West bank," said the statement.
It added that another join security meeting was held in northernGaza Strip
on Monday night between General Salman Helles, Palestinian national security
chief and Ya'kov Kokhavi, the Israeliarmy commander of the southern Israel.
"The two commanders discussed on the ground their field
securitycoordination that they had agreed upon in previous meetings," said the
statement.
Israel is expected to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and
northern West Bank on August 17 under its unilateral disengagement plan.
