RAMALLAH, July 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmad Qurei has vowed that his cabinet would quit and there will be no need for it, if chaos in the Palestinian territories goes on, the East Jerusalem-based Al Quds daily reported on Monday.

Qurei was quoted as saying that his cabinet gives high importance to the issue of chaos.

If this cabinet cannot put an end to security deterioration andchaos in our Palestinian territories, this means that there has to be room for another new cabinet accomplish this task, vowed Qurei.

Qurei noted that his cabinet had issued 262 decisions since it assumed responsibility, clarifying that "despite the difficult situations, the cabinet worked seriously to improve the daily lifeof our people and reforming the administrative apparatus."

"Security of the Palestinian citizen is a priority to be discussed in the cabinet's future meetings," he said, adding other basis issue would be the Israeli occupation and its procedures against the Palestinian people.

On the intended Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, Qurei said "we need to know from the Israelis how they will implement withdrawal and what will happen on the crossings, for example, Rafah Crossing (on the border with Egypt)."

"We trust our Egyptian brothers and we don't want any Israeli presence on Rafah Crossing or in any part of the Gaza Strip," he said.

Meanwhile, Qurei underlined that "on the linkage between Gaza Strip and West Bank, we need to know how this will work and don't want Gaza Strip to become a prison."

The Palestinian side took decisions to activate the police and security in Gaza and form a force of 5,000 elements to control the security, while some wanted militants will be part of the force, he added.

"With regards to the West Bank city of Ramallah, there will be a new force of police to enforce security and public order," he said. Enditem
