China to boost Mekong trade, investment

    BEIJING, July 4 -- On the eve of the summit, China's Vice Minister for Commerce, An Min, said the government would take positive measures to boost trade and investment in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

    Specific measures include increasing imports and trade with the region, and continuing to supply aid to deprived areas. The government will also work to develop favorable policies to encourage investment in the subregion, especially from Chinese companies.
