GAZA, July 2 (Xinhuanet) -- An Israeli military drone fired at least one missile at a team of Palestinian militants in the outskirts of Rafah town in the southern Gaza Strip early Saturday and seriously wounded one of them, security sources said.

The sources said that four militants were trying to approach the Jewish settlement of Morag, north of Rafah town, to carry out an armed attack in the almost empty settlement.

The three other militants survived the attack unscathed, according to the sources.

Medics at the Rafah Hospital said a Palestinian, who sustained serious wounds after being hit by missile shrapnel, was brought to the emergency room Saturday morning.

The medics also said that a 3-year-old girl was seriously injured Friday night after Israeli soldiers guarding the settlement of Rafeyah Yam, west of Rafah, opened intensive gunfire at the Palestinian residents' houses in the town. Enditem
