JAKARTA, July 1 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono plans
to invite Microsoft owner Bill Gates for a meeting in Indonesia to discuss
the planned establishment of Microsoft software development center in the
country, a minister said Friday.
"The president will write an invitation letter to Bill Gates for an
Indonesian visit," Minister of Research and Technology Kusmayanto Kardiman was
quoted by the Antara news agency as saying.
He made the remarks after accompanying the president in a meeting with
Microsoft Indonesia director Tony Chen at Susilo's private residence in the
Jakarta suburb of Bogor.
"In the near future, there will be an agreement between the government and
Microsoft Indonesia," he said without elaborating.
He added the government has appointed West Java-based the Bandung Institute
of Technology and the Surabaya Institute of Technology in East Java to represent
Indonesia in the establishment of the center.
Susilo already met with Bill Gates during his US trip in May. Enditem |
