BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture here Friday said the bird flu outbreak in northwest China's Qinghai Province is "under control."

Jia Youling, director general of the Veterinary Bureau of the ministry, said migrant birds that have died of the disease have dropped to twenty a day since June 8.

Altogether more than 6,000 migratory birds have died since the disease was reported on May 4.

Jia said the ministry has reported the latest news to related international organizations.
