Bakri was shot dead by US forces while driving "too close" to their
military convoy a day earlier in southern Baghdad, according to an Iraqi
interior ministry official. US troops operating in Baghdad warn civilians
to stay 100 meters away from their convoy or they will be shot dead, but
this rule is not always strictly enforced. |
