| The man returned - but without any of his "wives," the
Beijing Times reported yesterday.
The report said police detained Zheng Jiadong, 49, as
he was processing paperwork at the exit-entry office of the Beijing Public
Security Bureau on June 10.
Zheng is a research fellow and professor with the
academy's philosophy research institute.
Zheng is also a part-time professor at a Heilongjiang
Province university and a part-time research fellow with a Shanghai university,
according to the report.
The institute has appointed another research fellow
to take Zheng's post as head of its Chinese Philosophy Research Office.
The Beijing Times didn't specify what charges may
have been filed against the academician.
