MANILA, June 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will deliver a TV speech on "issue of vital concern," the government said Monday.
Presidential Spokesman Ignacio Bunye said the president is scheduled to make the announcement at 7 p.m. Monday but he did no telaborate on the "vital concern."
"We advise the public to tune in to the broadcast media at thattime," Bunye said.
Arroyo, who is hounded by allegations that she cheated in the May 2004 election and that her family members were involved in benefiting from illegal gambling "Jueteng", has been remained in silence on the charges, saying that she would rather keep her focus on economic development. Enditem |
