BEIJING, June 22 -- Over 60 sculptures newly
created by Chinese artists are now on a tour exhibition in Changchun, capital of
Jilin province in Northeast China.
The sculptures are created especially to commemorate
the 60th anniversary of the success of the anti-Fascist wars, especially the
60th anniversary of victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion.
The exhibition will go to the cities of Nanjing,
Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Xiamen, before returning to Beijing, where it will be
exhibited in downtown Wangfujing street. All the six cities it tours have been
subjected to Japanese invasion in late 1930s.
The sculptures will meanwhile be part of a special
exhibition during the upcoming 2nd Beiijng International Art Biennale. They will
be exhibited along with another 20 foreign artists' works at the China Museum of
Fine Arts in September.
