BEIJING, June 21 -- Taiwan hottest singer Jay Chow's maiden film Initial D, finally premiered across the world on Sunday.

A red carpet ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beijing with cast members, including Edison Chen, Shawn Yue and Jordan Chan, all showing up to do some final promotion for the high-profile film.

The movie title "Initial D" is a well-known expression to car racing fans and means "No.1 Drift" or "master car racer".

The 12 million US dollar film is based on the Japanese cartoon book of same name and tells stories about the fierce competition between a group of young racers.
