Olympic experts gave lectures at media workshop

กก    BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Olympic experts gave lectures on Monday at a media workshop to help local journalists hone their reporting skills in covering the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

    In a speech titled Cultural Sources of Success in Olympic Events, Stephen Wieting, a sociology professor from the United States' University of Iowa, delivered his insight into how the sports favored by different countries and regions could develop inthe context of globalization.

    In the two-day workshop organised by the Beijing organising committee, senior editors from major media including the Sports Illustrated and Xinhua News Agency will also make presentataions on how they covered the Olympics.

    Liu Jingmin, vice executive president of Beijing organising committee, will brief the participants on the preparation for the Beijing Games at the second day of the workshop. Enditem
